ccdhs
The antimicrobial use of silver compounds pivots on the 100-year-old application of silver nitrate, silver foil, and silver sutures for the prevention and treatment of ocular, surgical, and dental infections. However it’s approval for use in dentistry in the US is new. This course will provide evidence-based information on the efficacy of two silver products in the management of dental caries – silver diamine fluoride and silver nitrate.

  • Describe the action of silver in arresting caries
